Guest House Worton North Yorkshire

Situated in a quiet backwater away from the hustle and bustle of daily life Stoney End is a Grade 2 Listed Building dating back to the seventeenth century, originally providing a barn for the neighbouring farm house. It was converted in 1990 and is now our family home as well as providing stunning guest accommodation within the tiny hamlet of Worton, near Askrigg in Wensleydale.

In addition to the usual home comforts, we also offer the following for the use of our guests:

The house has been lovingly furnished and decorated with great attention to detail to create a cosy and relaxed ambience with a real home-from-home feeling. Real log fires when the weather's cool and comfortable seating you can relax in after a day exploring Wensleydale.

The Bedrooms

All three of our guest rooms provide all the modern comforts you would expect:

Wensleydale - for a touch of Romance!

Wensleydale has been recently re furnished and redecorated. It is now a gorgeous romantic room with a lovely designer, king sized double, four-poster bed with beautiful crisp white linen. The compact ensuite shower room is accessed via its own tiny flight of stairs beside the four-poster bed.

Ellerkin - a room with a view

This double room has a king-sized bed and a smart newly refurbished private bathroom next door which has a shower and double ended rolltop bath. There is also a hand basin in the bedroom. Light-toned carpet, furnishings and decorations give this bedroom a light and airy atmosphere. Please note that there are three stairs down into this room and into the private bathroom next door and the room also has beams which are quite low in places. As its name suggests, this room enjoys a over the dale to Ellerkin Scar.

Yoredale - ground-floor bedroom

Yoredale is our only room on the ground floor, but there are two steps down in to the room. It has a super king-sized modern four poster bed, a sitting area with comfortable leather sofa and armchair, and lovely views over the dale. The new en-suite shower room is modern and spacious. Now with an outside seating area with a hot tub overlooking Wensleydale.

** Please note due to the layout of Stoney End our first floor rooms may not be suitable for guests with mobility problems. We have some stairs in all our rooms and all have beamed ceilings. Please telephone before booking if you have any concerns.
