Guest House Askrigg North Yorkshire
Milton House is an early Victorian house, nestled in the heart of Askrigg, in Wensleydale.
We offer that “Home from Home” feeling that can only be found from a family run business, with light and airy rooms with views of the village and hills beyond.
At Milton House, we pride ourselves on going that extra mile to provide you with a relaxing & memorable stay, whilst you sample everything that Askrigg and its beautiful surrounding areas have to offer.
In the village, there are 3 pubs with a fantastic range of Bar and Restaurant meals, a well-stocked village shop, and a Bike hire/repair shop. There is also the Askrigg Village Kitchen Deli Bakery & Tea Room which we also run. Which offers a wide range of freshly baked bread, pastries and cakes. You can also order a packed lunch from us and we will arrange for it to be ready for collection at the Village Kitchen for you before you go out for the day.
Askrigg is a Yorkshire Dales village of character. With its tall three storied houses, leading up the sloping street from St. Oswald’s Church.
You may already be familiar with Askrigg, as it was the fictional village of Darrowby, featured in the television series “All Creatures Great And Small”. Other local attractions have also featured on the big screen, such as Bolton Castle and Aysgarth Falls - with three waterfalls in total. They were used to film scenes for the box office hit Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, starring Kevin Costner.
Mill Gill Force is another spectacular local waterfall, about three quarters of a mile to the north-west.
