The Old Star, West Witton was a 17th century coaching inn and is now a family run bed and breakfast. With oak beams and log fire in the lounge this characterful, reasonably priced, en suite accommodation has uninterrupted views across Wensleydale. The Old Star is the perfect base for Yorkshire outdoor pursuits; walking, cycling and fishing or touring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales by car. The grounds include a secluded walled cottage garden where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine, read a book or just enjoy the lovely views.

Owners, Barbara and Barrie have enjoyed running The Old Star for over 20 years and are always happy to chat, suggest walks, places to eat and visit and cycle routes. The 2014 Tour de France Yorkshire Stage One will pass through nearby Leyburn. West Witton has two excellent pubs both of which can be recommended for good food and real ale.

The Old Star B&B Accommodation: The Old Star has 7 bedrooms, all having central heating, a washbasin, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, colour TV and shaver sockets. 5 rooms have en-suite bathrooms with WC, shower or bath. There is a log fire and exposed oak beams in the lounge, making a cosy retreat in winter. The dining room is full of character with oak beams and antique furniture and an excellent english breakfast is served, using local produce with vegetarian and other options available.
